Our STEAMS Kits introduce grades 1 to 6 students to skilled trades and AEC careers. Lessons directly meet curriculum expectations (currently we have programs for Ontario, Alberta and a pilot project in British Columbia) and:
- are turnkey. Teacher lesson plans, student handouts, and electronic links to resources are provided.
- are hands-on. A class set of building materials are included.
- showcase innovation in the real world.
- include diverse children's books.
- are multidisciplinary.

Exploring the Trades at George Brown College.

We can transform perceptions about the skilled trades through hands-on experiences and learning directly from individuals who are in these careers.
Thank you Mohawk College and Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board (HWDSB) for being wonderful partners in our second Explore The Trades elementary educator workshop.
It was an honour to have MPP Neil Lumsden and MPP Donna Skelly join HWDSB teachers while they tried plumbing, masonry, electrical, and gear activities.
Thank you to our panelists, Kerry Manahi and Anna Somogyi of Cooper Equipment Rentals Limited, and Mohawk faculty Cali Chorkawy, for sharing valuable insights about your career path.
We learn best together!
Explore The Trades workshops are part of our mission to create engaging and insightful experiential learning opportunities for educators in partnership with local technical colleges and industry professionals. By coming together, we build real-world connections and transform the stigma related to skilled trades careers! Thank you to the Centennial College School of Transportation for hosting this event.
